Elmiron Eye Damage Lawsuits will set its first trial in 2023
The U.S judicial ordered on 15th December 2020 that all the 240 federal cases filed against Elmiron(pentosan polysulfate sodium or PPS) will be combined to one under the judgeship of Judge Brian R. Martinotti in New jersey. And after the consolidation of all cases, both parties are preparing for the first trial.
Followed by a case management order on 13th May 2021, Martinotti ordered lawyers to go on with the discovery phase & the first trial for the Elmiron case will be held in January 2023.
Although the parties have begun their discovery process in which they will review the drug & it’s working and everything related to the lawsuit. The same will be reviewed by the New Jersey court on science day (Sept. 30, 2021).
The link between Elmiron to Maculopathy (vision loss)
Elmiron is the drug that is used to treat pain or discomfort caused by bladder issues named interstitial cystitis and it forms a type of layer on the bladder walls in order to protect it from harmful substances.
